Sodium cyclamate, chemical name of which is sodium cyclamate, is an organic compound. Its appearance is white needle shaped, sheet shaped crystal or crystalline powder, odorless and sweet. The sweetness of its dilute solution is about 30 times that of sucrose. Its sweetness is 40~50 times of that of sucrose, and it is a non nutritive sweetener.
As an international common food additive, it can be used in cool drinks, fruit juice, ice cream, pastry food, candied fruits, etc. It can also be used for home flavoring, cooking, sauce dishes, cosmetics, syrup, icing, lozenges, toothpaste, mouthwash, lipstick, etc. It can be used to replace sugar in diabetes patients and obese people.
