Diethyl maleate, also known as diethyl maleate, is a colorless transparent liquid that can be mixed with various organic solvents. It is a monomer of polymer compounds, an intermediate of pesticides, pharmaceuticals, fragrances, and water stabilizers (organic polycarboxylate phosphonic acid compounds).
Mainly used for the production of organic phosphorus pesticide mala thion (mara thon). Used as a polymer monomer and synthetic resin plasticizer. Also used as insecticides, fungicides, rust inhibitors, etc.
It can be used as an intermediate for pesticides, pharmaceuticals, spices, and water quality stabilizers (organic polycarboxylate phosphonic acid compounds).
