Fluralaner is a broad-spectrum insecticide with good insecticidal activity against ticks, fleas, lice, hemiptera and diptera, and its virulence is higher than or comparable to that of commonly used insecticides.

Fluralaner acts mainly by interfering with GABA-gated chloride channels and is a similar target to cyclopentadienyl,phenylpyrazole and macrolide insecticides.
